Human M-CSF (AF)

M-CSF a potent hematopoietic factor is generated by a variety of cells such as lymphocytes monocytes fibroblasts endothelial cells myoblasts and osteoblasts. It serves as a crucial regulator of cellular proliferation differentiation and survival for blood monocytes tissue macrophages and their progenitor cells. Notably M-CSF plays significant roles in modulating dermal thickness and fertility. Clinically it finds use in treating infections malignancies and atherosclerosis aiding hematopoietic recovery post bone marrow transplantation. While Human M-CSF is reactive in murine systems the murine molecule lacks activity on Human cells. Recombinant Human M-CSF is a homodimeric protein weighing 36.8 kDa composed of two 159 amino acid polypeptide subunits.
