OptiMAL-IT is a rapid, sensitive malaria test that differentiates between P. falciparum and other malaria parasites. The test is highly accurate and is capable of detecting as few as 50-100 parasites per μL of blood. OptiMAL-IT operates in all clinical settings and precise, easily interpretable results are achieved within 20 minutes.

OptiMAL-IT verifies the effectiveness of treatment by detecting the presence of Plasmodium lactate dehydrogenase (pLHD) and will become negative following a course of successful treatment. OptiMAL-IT is highly specific and is able to detect drug resistant malaria.

The OptiMAL-IT cassette comes complete with all test reagents and consumables required to perform the test.
