Selectrol^® is a convenient source of viable micro-organisms which can be used for a variety of quality control and testing applications.

Selectrol^® is freeze-dried for easy storage and, when reconstituted, will provide cultures with characteristic reactions.

Selectrol^® is a highly versatile water soluble disc, that can be inoculated directly onto solid or liquid culture media. Selectrol^® vials contain either 10 or 25 discs. The vials are sealed under vacuum, and contain self-indicating silica gel to reassure you that the discs remain moisture-free. Each organism supplied is guaranteed to be a first generation derivation of the type culture.

Selectrol^® can be used for the quality control of culture media, staining reactions and biochemical reactions used in the identification of micro-organisms.

Selectrol^® may be used to determine the concentration of antibiotics in blood, serum, CSF and other body fluids. Selectrol^® can also be used for the quality control of antibiotic susceptibility testing, whether by disc diffusion or serial dilution.
