Crypto/Giardia-Cel FITC Stain, produced by Cellabs, is an in vitro immunofluorescent test for the simultaneous detection of Cryptosporidium oocysts and Giardia cysts in faecal and environmental samples.
The fluorescein-labelled monoclonal antibody reagent binds specifically to Cryptosporidium oocysts and Giardia cysts providing rapid, accurate detection. Cryptosporidium oocysts and Giardia cysts display bright green fluorescence.
Visualisation is enhanced by the Evans Blue counter stain, which causes background material to appear a contrasting red, and suppresses non-specific fluorescence.
